How do I order a custom cake?
Please fill out the enquiry form with as much information as possible. This will allow us to quote it quickly and accurately. If you accept the quote we will send you an invoice. A 50% non-refundable booking fee is required to secure your date with the remainder due no later than 7 days prior to your booked date.
What happens if I need to cancel my booking?
We request that you inform us as soon as possible to discuss and come to an acceptable outcome. Please note that the booking fee is non-refundable but can be applied to another order within 6 months.
I have seen a picture of a cake that I love, will you copy it for me?
We are happy to use your picture as inspiration and to get a better understanding of the style you would like however will not replicate the design.
Do you have a shop that I can visit?
No, Me or the Cake is a home-based business in a council approved and registered kitchen in Pascoe Vale South.
Do you deliver?
Yes, we can deliver for an additional cost, please include your delivery address on our enquiry form to obtain a quote. Orders can be picked up from Pascoe Vale South by prior arrangement.
Can you accommodate dietary requirements?
Please contact us to discuss. Please note that we use products that may be considered allergens in our kitchen including nuts, dairy, eggs, gluten and can not guarantee that there is no chance of cross contamination.
How do I transport my cake home?
Please ensure that your cake is placed on a flat surface in your car, preferably on the floor behind the seat or in the passenger side footwell. In some cars, the boot may also be suitable. Do not transport your cake on the seat or have someone hold it. Please drive carefully. Be aware of the temperature in your car, keep the air conditioner on and do not leave the cake in the car.
How should my cake be stored?
Buttercream cakes should be stored in the fridge and removed 1.5-2 hours prior to serving. Fondant cakes are best stored out of the fridge in a cool environment. Ensure cake is not in direct sunlight.
